This route brings you through some of the most scenic and historic parts of the county. It includes the delightful village of Villierstown, the wonderful scenery of the Dromana Drive, superb views of the River Blackwater, a Hindu-Gothic gate lodge, Cappoquin, the historic heritage town of Lismore, Camphire Bridge, Knockamore, Glendine and Ardmore with its stunning 12th century Round Tower and Cathedral. It also passes through the county’s Gaeltacht or Irish speaking area of an Rinn and Old Parish. Towards the end Helvick Head, just off the route, is well worth a visit.
