About WildRover
Ireland's trails, mapped honestly
WildRover is a free guide to 537 waymarked walking and cycling trails across 30 counties — built on official Sport Ireland trail data, enriched with real route maps, facilities, and local knowledge.
Real routes, not just pins
Nearly every trail shows its actual route line on the map, drawn from the Sport Ireland National Trails Register — with a free GPX download for your phone or GPS.
Trustworthy numbers
Distance, duration, total ascent and difficulty come from the official trails register — so a 240 km way isn't listed as an afternoon stroll.
What's along the way
Trailhead parking, public transport, viewpoints, swimming spots, heritage sites, cafés and pubs near the route — plus the wildlife you might actually see.
Weather that matters
Every trail page shows live conditions and a five-day forecast for that exact location, with daylight hours to plan around.
Choose your challenge
Every trail is graded to the official four-level scale:
- Easy Flat, surfaced routes for all fitness levels — buggies and casual strollers welcome.
- Moderate Some climbs and rough ground; reasonable fitness needed.
- Challenging Steep or exposed sections; good fitness and proper footwear.
- Difficult Strenuous mountain terrain for experienced, well-equipped walkers.
