This trail follows minor road, forest road and field track as it passes through farmland and forestry while crossing the flank of Slievereagh Mountain before passing an animal sanctuary on the descent, taking the walker past a well-preserved lime kiln near the trailhead and a ringfort complex dating from 1000BC at Cush, with great vistas to the northwest.
